The late Danny Kaye loved children almost as much as he hated signing autographs, but we are
privileged to have his signature on the best-loved children’s classic, “Hans Christian Andersen.”
How in the world is such a thing possible?  It’s possible when a stagehand at the 1971 musical
“Two by Two,” which starred Kaye, asked the star to sign this soundtrack album for his daughter.
Never one to refuse a request by or for a child, Danny gladly signed the album, which had been
carefully stored in a closet by the grown up daughter until she sold her home and re-discovered t
his treasured memento in her closet.  Her portion of the proceeds from the sale of the LP will go
to Kaye’s favorite charity, UNICEF For Children.
