Description
Hello. Up for sale are three sets of hand-tinted Lobby Cards from an owner who ran Italian and Spanish-language films. No doubt these were originally b&w. I don’t know who painted them, but I’m pretty sure they didn’t arrive at the theater that way. Perhaps the owner or a family member, but whoever did the job, they did a terrific job. I have plenty more of these. Also, check out my other auctions over the next couple of weeks. I will be listing posters, promo material, more lobby cards, and other interesting ephemera from this estate - all movie related. Here’s what you’ll get:
1.
Quiere Casarse Conmigo?
, eight Lobby Cards (no titles), 11.5x15.5”. Excellent condition, no pinholes. Besides being hand-tinted, these are printed on linen-type paper. If you look at the top of a few of these, you can see the sun reflecting off of the textured paper. A great set of photos.
2.
Sangre En El Ruedo
, eight Lobby Cards, 11.5x15.5”. Excellent condition. These all have rivets (see photos).
3.
El Amor Brujo
, eight Lobby Cards, 11.5x15.5”. Six are in excellent condition, one has tape marks around the edges, and one has been crudely cut down to a smaller size.
