    2K MR210 CDU Capacitor Discharge Unit To Work Up to 4 Point Motors at Once
    The purpose of capacitor discharge units is to store up electricity in a capacitor. The electrical charge is released, on throwing a switch, as a burst of a much larger current than a transformer can supply.
    The CDU can be supplied with either an AC or DC voltage up to 24v. Operating from 24 volts typically gives 4 times the power. In most cases a voltage of 16v AC is ideal to power a CDU. The output of a CDU is always DC.
    The Standard unit will power up to 4 sets of points simultaneously.
    - 1 x CDU CAPACITOR DISCHARGE UNIT FOR POINT MOTORS - TO SUIT PECO PL-10 & PL-11 SERIES POINT MOTORS (PL-10, PL-10E, PL-10W, PL-10WE, PL-11 SURFACE MOUNT) & OTHER MAKES SUCH AS HORNBY R8014 & R8243 & OTHER MAKES SUCH AS SEEP - NEEDS 12 VOLTS DC or 16 VOLTS AC IMPUT & PROVIDES THE 'KICK' to ENSURE POINTS 'SNAP OVER' EVERY TIME.
    80 Volt - 4400uF with Diode to prevent back emf - depending on point motor type and length of wiring this unit should be capable of moving several point motors at once
    NOT FOR USE WITH DCC POINT CONTROL SYSTEMS AS SOME ALREADY (HORNBY R8247) CONTAIN CPU's
